Clos Cibonne Tradition Tibouren Rosé

This historic winery in Provence specializes in the production of Tibouren- a lesser known but very historical grape that is rarely seen in varietal wines. This wine (at least in my opinion) is the cult classic of Provence rosés. It is 90% Tibouren blended with 10% Grenache, fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeast, and spends an entire year ageing on its lees in large neutral oak. The wine is a very pale pink color with hints of strawberries and cherries and dry with balanced acidity. It would be lovely with the entire meal (and the bottle is pretty cool to keep around as well).

Domaine Guillemard-Clerc Saint-Romain en Chevrots Blanc

Located within the Cote de Beaune, Saint-Romain is a small region producing light and fresh red wines, and in recent years, their Chardonnays have been particularly delicious. The Guillemard-Clerc estate is roughly ten hectares in size, and spans throughout several different appellations in Burgundy. Round on the palate with notes of melons, gooseberries and mulberries over a creamy yet mineral finish- I think this wine would be delicious with the lobster and mussels.

Mas de Valériole "Vé" Rosé

Who doesn't love a crisp and refreshing glass of rosé in the middle of summer? Located in the heart of Camargue Regional Park in Provence, this small family-run winery is entering its 3rd generation- not only specializing in wine, but also the production of rice, wheat, and sunflowers. This rosé is made from Caladoc (a cross between Malbec and Grenache) and Merlot. It is a pale pink color, with pleasant aromatics of red fruits, white flowers, and citrus. There is a subtle note of salinity and refreshing acidity allowing this to pair well with both the apero and the main dish.

Jolie-Laide Glou d'Etat

Jolie-Laide is a small two-person operation in Sebastopol, California. Their name translates to "Pretty-Ugly", a French term of endearment to describe something that is unconventionally beautiful. Their Glou d'Etat red blend is relatively new to their portfolio, and a perfect example of a summer California red. The wine is a blend of 65% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, and 10% Syrah (truly bringing the south of France to California). It showcases tart red fruit, subtle herbal notes, and lingering astringency and acidity. Serve it with a slight chill.
